Reading Mackinac Registry Status
Active, Incarcerated, Pending Out of State, Inactive Out of State, Absconder, Homeless, School Only, and Employment Only are distinct registry states. “Absconder” signals that required contact has been lost; “homeless” is a reported housing status, not the same flag. Compliance notices can concern an address, campus, job, verification, fee, form, ID, phone, vehicle, professional license, or false information. Read the exact flag instead of reducing every notice to “non-compliant.”

A public PSOR profile assembles identification, registration, offense, location, and compliance fields. It deliberately does not publish victim information. It can also omit information the statute keeps nonpublic.

Why a Conviction May Be Missing
Michigan PSOR is not a list of every sexual-offense conviction. It is a profile-change alert, not a live location feed and not the same as MI-VINE custody notification. Keep the confirmation email and revisit the live profile when an alert arrives.

Mackinac Search Plus NSOPW
A person who crosses state lines may require more than one registry search. The U.S. Department of Justice National Sex Offender Public Website searches participating jurisdictions, while Michigan PSOR supplies the Michigan profile and state-specific controls.
Use both sources for cross-state context, then verify details with the jurisdiction that maintains the profile.
For Mackinac County registration, call the Mackinac County Sheriff at 906-643-1911 before going to 100 South Marley Street in St. Ignace so staff can confirm the right office and current procedure.
