An Arrest Is Not a Conviction
An arrest or booking does not prove guilt. A prosecutor may decline or change charges, and a court may dismiss a count or enter another outcome. Michigan may later restrict or set aside an eligible conviction, while MCL 780.622 defines the legal effect and continuing authorized uses. An older copy can therefore misstate the present legal status. Use the MSP correction and record-review process when a state history appears wrong, and verify the disposition with the court.
